XE Market Analysis: North America – May 08, 2018

The dollar picked up fresh demand and posted trend highs against the euro, the Canadian dollar and other dollar bloc currencies, among other currencies, while holding firm against most others. EUR-USD fell to a four-month low at 1.1874, building on what is now the fourth consecutive week of declines. A positive round of data out of Germany had little impact on the euro, nor remarks by ECB member Praet, who downplayed the recent weather-influenced soft patch in Eurozone economic data.
