XE Market Analysis: North America – Mar 06, 2018

EUR-USD has traded on either side of 1.2350 today, holding below the 13-day high seen yesterday at 1.2365. Markets are still monitoring the evolution of Trump’s tariff proposals, which have met strong public opposition from senior Republicans, the WTO and allies, among others. The yen has posted moderate gains versus the dollar and euro, among other currencies, during the London AM session. The move is a partial correction of the across-the-board declines the Japanese currency saw yesterday, and comes amid market talk of Japanese repatriation as Japan’s fiscal year-end starts to loom.
