The dollar mostly consolidated at higher levels versus those seen ahead of the U.S. jobs report on Friday, though USD-JPY was an exception, with the pair slipping to the 109.75-85 area as the yen picked up safe haven bids amid a backdrop of coursing risk aversion in global stock markets as investors factor in rising inflation expectations and tighter monetary policy. The narrow trade-weighted USD index (DXY) was lodged at near net unchanged levels on the day, at 89.18, as of the early European PM session, which is about 0.4% up on Friday’s pre-payrolls levels.
