XE Market Analysis: Europe – Apr 29, 2019

The Dollar bloc currencies have posted gains in the wake of the strong 3.2% y/y U.S. Q1 GDP figure on Friday, which was added to today by a rise in March Chinese industrial profits after a four consecutive months of contraction. S&P 500 and NASDAQ hit fresh record highs on Wall Street on Friday, and while stock markets in Asia continued to sputter somewhat, the MSCI Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan) index was showing a gain of 0.4% heading into the opening of European bourses, rebounding from the biggest weekly decline in over a month last week.
