Improved U.S. data supported the dollar in N.Y. trade on Monday, as the manufacturing ISM came in much stronger than expected, and construction spending rose more than forecast. EUR-USD bottomed at 1.1737 after peaking at 1.1763 early in the session. USD-JPY was unable to breach the 113 mark, topping at 112.994, and later finding support over 112.50. USD-CAD remained firm, peaking at 1.2524as oil prices slipped, and as recent BoC speak has gone decidedly dovish. Cable continued to slide, bottoming at 1.3257.
