XE Market Analysis: Asia – May 07, 2018

The DXY peaked at four-month highs of 92.97 early in the N.Y. session on Monday, before profit taking took the greenback a bit lower. There was no U.S. data to drive the markets on Monday, while London was out on holiday, leaving FX traders unwillling to push to hard. EUR-USD bottomed at trend lows of 1.1898, before bouncing to 1.1938 highs. USD-JPY topped at 109.40, later easing under 109.10. USD-CAD peaked at 1.2891, later falling under 1.2845 on firm oil. Cable was thin, though held the 1.3500 level, peaking at 1.3575.
