XE Market Analysis: Asia – Aug 16, 2018

The dollar index slipped early in N.Y. trade on Thursday, driven down by softer U.S. data, and a rallying Turkish Lira. By mid-morning, however, the Greenback had perked up again, lifting the DXY to 96.76 highs from 96.32 lows. EUR-USD fell from 1.1409 highs to 1.1349. USD-JPY rallied from 110.56 lows to peak at 111.11. USD-CAD remained firm on soft oil prices, and concerns that a NAFTA deal may not be coming in the near future. Cable fell back from 1.2754 highs to bottom at 1.2694.
