The Dollar posted modest gains in N.Y. on Friday, supported by stellar new home sales, and a solid pop in the April flash Markit manufacturing and services PMIs. The DXY moved from early lows of 90.90, later topping at 90.15, before fading some into the close. Wall Street rose, though following the capital gains tax scare from Thursday, moves were tentative. Treasury yields were a couple of basis points higher. Monday’s U.S. calendar will feature the March durables report, where orders are expected to rise 1.0% versus the previous -1.2% outcome.
