XE Market Analysis: North America – May 29, 2019

The Dollar picked up demand in both Asia and during the European AM session. The narrow trade-weighted USD index printed a six-day high at 98.04, while EUR-USD concurrently fell to a six-day low at 1.1149, inching last week’s two-year low at 1.1107 further into view. Safe haven demand has been the dominating factor in price dynamics, with EUR-JPY and EUR-CHF also declining amid safe-haven driven outperformance in the Japanese and Swiss currencies. USD-JPY fell to a two-week low at 109.15, despite concurrent dollar gains versus most other currencies.
