The Dollar dropped in N.Y. on Tuesday, taking the DXY to six-session lows of 97.44 from 97.65 at mid-morning. Risk-off conditions were in effect, and yields slipped some. Recent U.S. price data have been soft, which along with prospects for a dovish FOMC on Wednesday, may be behind the Greenback’s recent soft patch. Incoming data was mixed, seeing the Chicago PMI falling, though consumer confidence rose. EUR-USD topped at 1.1229, later easing to 1.1198 lows. USD-JPY bottomed at 111.24, though later bounced over 111.45 as Wall Street pared losses.
