The DXY reclaimed the 95 handle, coming from early lows of 94.83. Trade was quiet overall, though with trade talk heating up, the greenback appeared to have been supported by the thinking that the U.S. economy would fare much better than other countries amid a trade war. EUR-USD bottomed at 1.1593 before steadying near 1.1610, while USD-JPY bounced to 110.92 into the close, as Wall Street pared losses. USD-CAD moved higher in thin trade, with Canada out on holiday. Cable meanwhile, followed EUR-USD lower, briefly trading under 1.3100.
