XE Market Analysis: Asia – Mar 08, 2018

The dollar perked up some in N.Y. trade on Thursday, taking the DXY to four-session highs of 90.18. Gains were led by EUR-USD losses, which touched 1.2303 lows, down from 1.2446, which was seen after the ECB announcement, which changed guidance language, but remained dovish overall. USD-JPY was stick in a narrow range ahead of tonight’s BoJ meeting, managing just a 106.02 to 106.26 band. USD-CAD bottomed at 1.2883 on hopes Canada would be exempted from U.S. tariffs, though later ramped back up to 1.2961 highs.
