The dollar was mostly lower in N.Y. trade on Thursday, with month and quarter end conditions keeping ranges relatively narrow. Incoming U.S. data had little impact on the FX market, though revised GDP improved, jobless claims were lower than expected, and the advance trade deficit narrowed some. EUR-USD ranged between 1.1767 lows early, to a high of 1.1804. USD-JPY meanwhile, topped at 112.76, and based at 112.39. USD-CAD pulled back from the 1.2500 region, bottoming at 1.2419. Cable recovered briefly over 1.3450.
